Job summary

Constellation Technologies, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced SWE to support federal contracts. The role requires US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

On-call support for system operations is expected. A 14+ year track record as a software engineer in similar programs is required, with a CS degree or equivalent experience. The candidate will work across backend and frontend stacks, using Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, ReactJS, Kafka, NiFi, Docker, Maven, and SQL

Qualifications

• Requires U.S. citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• On-call support for system operations.
• 14+ years as a SWE in similar programs.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field; 4 years additional experience may substitute the degree.
• Experience with Docker/Docker Compose, Linux CLI, Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, ReactJS, Kafka, NiFi, Maven, SQL databases.
• Experience with Git, Confluence, and Atlassian suite.

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and enhances complex software systems based on documented requirements.
• Reviews and tests software components for design adherence and test results.
• Resolves software problem reports and contributes to system design discussions.
• Participates in software development lifecycle including trade-offs and reuse of COTS/GOTS where appropriate.
• Proactively learns new software and technologies related to backend or frontend development.

Due to federal contract requirements, United States citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph are required for the position.

Required:

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must have TS/SCI clearance w/ active polygraph (last polygraph must be within the last five (05) years)
• Candidate would be expected to be “On call” to support system operations.
• Must have fourteen (14) years’ experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline (i.e. Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.) from an accredited college or university is required.
• Four (04) years of additional relevant experience on projects with similar processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
• Works individually or as part of a team.
• Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
• Resolves software problem reports.
• Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
• Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade‑offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
• Experience software development tools such as Git, Kira, Confluence and other Atlassian Products
• Experience with Linux Command Line
• Experience with Java or similar programming language
• Understanding of Container Technologies such as Docker
• Understanding of web development and APIs
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
• Ability to learn new software and technologies related to backend or frontend development
• Experience with Spring Boot
• Experience with JavaScript, ReactJS specifically

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

• Infrastructure Tools: Experience with IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Container Platforms: Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Cloud Experience: Proficiency with major cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)

$150,000 - $200,000 a year

The pay range for this job, with multi-levels, is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
