Job summary

Salmon is building a Frontline Employees Database to run HR and operations for about 4,000 frontline staff. You will design, build, and own automation and data structures supporting hiring, leave, shifts, and integrated workflows with HR systems.

You’ll collaborate with HR, Operations, and People Partners to deliver MVPs and scale internal products using n8n, PostgreSQL, and Retool, with Python/JavaScript for custom logic, in a hybrid Manila-based setup.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with n8n, Make, or similar low-code automation tools.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to query relational databases.
• Experience with Retool or comparable internal app builders.
• Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript for scripting.
• Understanding of REST APIs and webhooks, plus testing basics.

About the role

You'll build and own Salmon's Frontline Employees Database — the internal system that runs HR and operational processes for around 4,000 frontline employees.

What you'll do

• Start with Frontline DB, which brings together employee and candidate profiles, access and account data, time-off information, shift planning, and selected operational results — with a backlog of initiatives across development, integrations, data mapping, documentation, and process improvement.

• Own solutions end to end: dig into the business need, clarify requirements with stakeholders, propose a practical approach, and turn it into a working MVP.

• Work directly with HR, Operations, People Partners, and Support, and over time extend scope into integrations with HiBob, Ashby, and other internal systems.

What you'll own

• Design, build, and maintain automation and integration workflows in n8n.

• Develop and improve PostgreSQL data structures for custom internal solutions.

• Build internal applications, forms, and user interfaces in Retool.

• Integrate HR and enterprise systems through REST APIs, webhooks, and other integration methods, with custom logic in Python and/or JavaScript.

• Test, troubleshoot, document, and maintain what you build — and handle internal support requests for existing tools and workflows (about 20% of the role).

• Grow MVP solutions into reliable internal products as processes and needs evolve.

What makes you a strong fit

• Hands-on experience with n8n, Make, or another low-code automation platform.

• Confident SQL skills and experience with relational databases — you can query, validate, and interpret data independently.

• Experience with Retool or another platform for building internal applications and forms.

• Working knowledge of Python and/or JavaScript for scripting and automation.

• Understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and common integration patterns, plus a basic grasp of testing, debugging, and error handling.

• A proactive working style — you read incomplete requirements, make reasonable technical decisions independently, and know when to elevate — with good English for working with international stakeholders.
