Job summary

Salmon is a remote-friendly fintech company building a banking and lending platform across Southeast Asia, starting in the Philippines. You will build interfaces and a shared component library powering multiple Salmon products, with focus on performance, accessibility, and reliability.

As part of a globally distributed, hybrid-first team, you will collaborate with design, backend, and platform teams, ship features end-to-end, and contribute to a scalable frontend ecosystem using React, Next.js,

Qualifications

• Experience with React and TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of Next.js fundamentals (SSR, ISR, routing).
• Proficiency with Redux Toolkit and RTK Query.
• Familiarity with component-driven development and design systems.
• Understanding of web performance and testing best practices.

Responsibilities

• Build interfaces and shared components in React/Next.js across multiple products.
• Collaborate with design, backend, and platform teams to ship features end-to-end.
• Integrate frontend apps with REST/GraphQL using generated typings.
• Optimize rendering performance and bundle size for better UX.

About the role:

You'll build the interfaces and shared component library that power multiple Salmon products, with a direct hand in performance, accessibility, and reliability.

What you'll do:

• Work across a shared design system, theming, and localization layer used by multiple product teams.
• Collaborate closely with design, backend, and platform teams to ship user-facing features end-to-end.
• Operate in a codebase with generated API typings, CI/CD pipelines, and active error monitoring and analytics.

What you'll own:

• Build and maintain user interfaces in React and Next.js across multiple products.
• Build reusable UI components and contribute to the shared component library.
• Integrate frontend applications with REST and GraphQL APIs using generated typings.
• Optimize rendering performance and bundle size to improve user experience.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to protect product reliability.
• Contribute to code reviews and help evolve frontend best practices.

What makes you a strong fit:

• Strong experience with React and TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of Next.js fundamentals: routing, SSR, ISR, and data fetching.
• Proficiency in modern state management using Redux Toolkit and RTK Query.
• Experience with component-driven development and design system principles.
• Familiarity with build tools (Webpack, Vite) and CI/CD fundamentals.
• Solid understanding of web performance fundamentals, with a track record of optimizing production applications and writing comprehensive tests.
