Job summary

IEX is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join our Software Engineering team in New York. You will work with experienced engineers to design, build, and optimize systems powering our exchange and new product offerings.

You will gain exposure to real-time, low-latency systems, and contribute to projects impacting how markets operate while learning market structure and electronic trading in scale.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Fundamental CS knowledge: algorithms, data structures, systems concepts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with technology and operations teams to design and implement solutions for trading systems.
• Contribute to development and maintenance of C++ and Java frameworks, messaging APIs, and data structures.
• Assist in the software development lifecycle: building, testing, deploying, and managing dependencies.
• Work on order entry, market data distribution, post-trade processing, and monitoring.
