Job summary

IEX in New York is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test Intern to help advance the exchange platform. You’ll build and improve tooling, learn about order types, queue priority, and equities execution, while contributing to performance, fairness, and transparency.

You’ll work across Core Development, Data Engineering, Market Ops, SRE, BD, and Regulatory teams on full-stack dashboards and tooling; no finance experience required, just strong programming mindset and problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java; knowledge of JavaScript/Node.js/SQL is a plus.
• Linux environment experience with scripting, deployment, and configuration.
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn how we interact with the IEX Exchange using the existing platform.
• Develop dashboards and tooling for the platform; full‑stack project.
• Collaborate with Core Development, Data Engineering, Market Ops, SRE, Business Development, and Regulatory to gather requirements and build tools.
• Suggest and implement enhancements to improve cross-team workflows.
