Job summary

HMH is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to support the Software Engineering team in developing, testing, and deploying software across drilling and industrial control platforms. The internship offers hands-on experience in a collaborative, agile environment, with mentorship from experienced engineers.

You will work on coding, testing, documentation, and lab support while applying classroom knowledge to real-world problems that contribute to safe, efficient, and reliable products.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and working toward a Bachelor or Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or related discipline from ABET-accredited university.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Proficiency in Python, Angular, and/or JavaScript is a plus.
• Familiarity with MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior software engineers with design, development, and testing of application features and internal tools.
• Write, review, and debug code under guidance of experienced engineers.
• Develop and execute unit and integration tests to validate functionality.
• Assist with documentation of designs, test results, and manuals.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and manage backlog tasks.
• Troubleshoot software issues and assist with root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, and hardware engineers on cross-functional projects.
