Job summary

V2Soft is seeking an experienced Software QA Automation Engineer to join our Ann Arbor, MI team. The candidate will lead Java automation, API testing, and CI/CD initiatives across databases and messaging systems for enterprise applications.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in software/QA, 5+ years Java, and hands-on experience with Playwright, RestAssured, Jenkins, and Git. Strong SQL skills and AGILE experience are required for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of software/QA industry experience, preferably Agile.
• 5+ years of Java coding experience.
• Hands-on with Playwright, Java, RestAssured, Spring Boot 2, GraphQL or Postman.
• Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AMQ.
• Experience with Jenkins/JenkinsX and CI/CD processes.
• Strong Git/Stash and SQL skills for test data prep and validation.
• Experience with manual and automated testing and Jira defect management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain test strategies, scenarios, and automation estimates.
• Build and execute unit, integration, and platform tests across environments.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites using industry-standard tools.
• Partner with developers to identify solutions and ensure test coverage.

We are seeking an experienced Software QA Automation Engineer to join our team in Ann Arbor, MI. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Java automation, API testing, CI/CD, databases, messaging systems, and enterprise application testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain test strategies, test scenarios, and automation estimates.
• Build and execute unit, component, integration, acceptance, load, security, scalability, usability, and platform tests.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites using industry-standard tools.
• Partner with developers to identify technical solutions and ensure comprehensive application test coverage.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and support execution across multiple environments.
• Analyze test failures, create detailed defects, validate fixes, and update automation as needed.
• Participate in code reviews and follow automation coding standards and best practices.
• Perform exploratory testing to identify unexpected application behavior.
• Support QA, development, and production release activities and provide test results for production sign-off.
• Participate in Major Incident and Emergency Change analysis and identify opportunities to automate regression testing.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of software/QA industry experience, preferably in an Agile environment.
• 5+ years of Java coding experience.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Playwright
• Java
• RestAssured
• Spring Boot 2
• GraphQL and/or Postman
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AMQ.
• Experience with Jenkins/JenkinsX and CI/CD processes.
• Strong experience with Git/Stash and source-control practices.
• Strong SQL skills for test data preparation and data validation.
• Experience with manual and automated testing.
• Experience with JIRA and defect management.
• Knowledge of databases and different data formats used in application testing.
• Experience with service-oriented architectures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Couchbase.
• SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio experience.
• Experience with Splunk for troubleshooting and validating application fixes.
• Kubernetes and container-based application deployment/operations experience.
• Experience with POS systems, payment gateways, or payment terminals.
• Experience testing high-traffic eCommerce applications.
