Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Houston, TX seeks a Software Engineer III to join the Corporate Sector - Credit Risk Technology team. You will design and deliver trusted technology products in a secure, scalable way within an agile environment.

You will work on modernizing the risk tech stack, develop production-grade code, and apply responsible AI practices while collaborating across teams to drive architectural improvements and data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficient in coding ( Java or Python).
• Strong knowledge of relational databases/ Transact SQL (Oracle/Sybase/SQL Server).
• Strong Knowledge of Databricks.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices.

Responsibilities

• Participate in modernization and upgrade of the Credit Risk technology stack per industry best practices.
• Execute software design, development, testing and troubleshooting with scalable, secure solutions.
• Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain production-grade algorithms.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure constraints are met by code.
• Gather and analyze data; develop visualizations and reporting for continuous software improvement.
• Identify hidden data patterns to drive improvements in code quality and architecture.
• Contribute to communities of practice exploring new technologies.
• Leverage enterprise AI coding tools to improve code quality, speed, and productivity with peer review and automated testing.
