Job summary

Kiewit Technology Group in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Software Engineer to design and deliver AI-powered enterprise applications across Kiewit's district portfolio. This role is ideal for a developer who has outgrown pure implementation and is ready to think at the systems level - shaping how applications are structured, how they integrate, and how AI can be leveraged to accelerate delivery.

You'll work alongside senior architects while building your own architectural instincts through hand-on

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
3-5 years of professional software development experience.
Experience with at least one modern web framework (React, Angular, Vue) and one backend language (Python or C#/.NET).
Solid understanding of data structures, testing, debugging, and API design.
Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and optimize AI-enabled software across multiple districts.
Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and contribute to a shared codebase.
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint ceremonies.
Collaborate with product owners and designers to translate requirements into working software.
Contribute to AI-assisted development workflows and improve existing applications.
