Job summary

The role focuses on frontend to backend delivery, collaborating with designers, product owners, and engineers to ship high-quality software used by Kiewit districts daily.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 3-5 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with at least one modern web framework (React, Angular, Vue) and one backend language (Python or C#/.NET).
• Solid understanding of data structures, testing, debugging, and API design.
• Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Comfort working with AI-approved development tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot) as part of a modern engineering workflow.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize AI-powered software across district projects.
• Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to a shared codebase.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint ceremonies.
• Collaborate with product owners and designers to translate requirements into working software.
• Support cross-functional work across PAVE, SPEQ, MUSE, and district delivery projects.
• Evolve engineering practices, tooling, and documentation as the team grows.
