Job summary

Frost is seeking a Software Engineer III in Texas to design, develop and document solutions across programs and applications. You will collaborate with Product Owners and analysts to translate business needs into scalable systems, and mentor others while delivering robust code.

Requirements include 4 years in Java/Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, TDD, Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and SQL databases. This telecommute role requires Texas residence and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in programming concepts and procedures.
• 4 years building RESTful APIs and using JSON/XML data.
• 4 years in Java, Spring Boot, Angular, HTML/CSS.
• 4 years core Java concepts: OOP, generics, collections, multithreading.
• 4 years Spring Boot: REST, microservices, DI, lifecycle hooks.
• 4 years TDD (JUnit/Mockito), Git, design patterns.
• 4 years CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• 4 years integrating with databases (Spring Data JPA) and Kafka.
• 4 years with Spring Security and OAuth2, Agile, SQL Server/PostgreSQL, Hibernate.

Who you are:

As a Software Engineer III at Frost, you are our code guru, not only writing code but understanding the "why" behind it. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, writing, testing, implementing, supporting, and documenting solutions for assigned programs and applications across the organization. You welcome a challenge and want to provide next level experiences to every individual that uses our systems.

What you'll do:

Design, write, test, implement, and document solutions for assigned program modules.

Collaborate with and provide technical advice to Product Owners, Business Analysts, and lines of business to estimate level-of-effort, timing, and feasibility, to design new systems based on business requirements, and to optimize system and program functionality.

Review coding for a group of software engineers to ensure alignment with business needs, change control procedures, and Frost development standards.

Take action using Integrity, Caring, and Excellence to achieve all-win outcomes.

What you'll need:

• 4 years of experience in commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures associated with programming.
• 4 years of experience in building and interfacing with Restful API(s) and in using JSON and XML formats.
• 4 years experience in application development using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Bootstrap, HTML, and CSS.
• 4 years of experience in core Java concepts, including object-oriented programming, generics, collections, multithreading, memory management, and data structures and algorithms.
• 4 years of experience in Spring Boot ecosystem, including building RESTful APIs, SOAP Services, implementing microservices architectures with domain driven design, configuring dependency injection, and managing application properties, profiles, and lifecycle hooks.
• 4 years of experience in test-driven development (using JUnit, Mockito), version control with Git, and use of design patterns like Singleton, Factory, and Strategy to ensure code maintainability and scalability.
• 4 years of experience in building robust CI/CD pipelines, containerization using Docker, and orchestration via Kubernetes, Openshift.
• 4 years of experience in integration with databases (using Spring Data JPA), messaging systems (Kafka), and security configurations (with Spring Security and OAuth2).
• 4 years of experience in Agile environments.
• 4 years of experience in working with relational databases including Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• 4 years of experience in object relational mapping using tools including Hibernate.
