Job summary

Frost Bank seeks a Software Engineer III to design, build, test, and document solutions across programs. You will collaborate with Product Owners, Analysts, and business lines to estimate effort, feasibility, and to shape new systems that meet business needs.

You will bring 4+ years in Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and related tech, with strong OOP, microservices, and CI/CD experience. The role supports a telecommute arrangement, with Texas residency required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in programming concepts, practices and procedures.
• 4+ years building and interfacing with Restful APIs and using JSON/XML.
• 4+ years of development using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Bootstrap, HTML, CSS.
• 4+ years with core Java concepts, OOP, generics, collections, multithreading, memory management, data structures and algorithms.
• 4+ years in Spring Boot ecosystem, RESTful APIs, SOAP, microservices with domain-driven design, DI, lifecycle hooks.
• 4+ years using TDD (JUnit, Mockito), Git, design patterns (Singleton, Factory, Strategy).
• 4+ years building CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• 4+ years of DB integration (Spring Data JPA), messaging systems (Kafka), security (Spring Security/OAuth2).
• 4+ years in Agile environments.
• 4+ years with MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• 4+ years ORM with Hibernate.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, test, implement, and document solutions for assigned program modules.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and lines of business to estimate level-of-effort, timing, and feasibility, to design new systems based on business requirements, and to optimize system and program functionality.
• Review coding for a group of software engineers to ensure alignment with business needs, change control procedures, and Frost development standards.

Who you are

As a Software Engineer III at Frost, you are our code guru, not only writing code but understanding the "why" behind it. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, writing, testing, implementing, supporting, and documenting solutions for assigned programs and applications across the organization. What you’ll do

What you’ll need

• 4 years of experience in commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures associated with programming.
• 4 years of experience in building and interfacing with Restful API(s) and in using JSON and XML formats.
• 4 years experience in application development using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Bootstrap, HTML, and CSS.
• 4 years of experience in core Java concepts, including object-oriented programming, generics, collections, multithreading, memory management, and data structures and algorithms.
• 4 years of experience in Spring Boot ecosystem, including building RESTful APIs, SOAP Services, implementing microservices architectures with domain driven design, configuring dependency injection, and managing application properties, profiles, and lifecycle hooks.
• 4 years of experience in test-driven development (using JUnit, Mockito), version control with Git, and use of design patterns like Singleton, Factory, and Strategy to ensure code maintainability and scalability.
• 4 years of experience in building robust CI/CD pipelines, containerization using Docker, and orchestration via Kubernetes, Openshift.
• 4 years of experience in integration with databases (using Spring Data JPA), messaging systems (Kafka), and security configurations (with Spring Security and OAuth2).
• 4 years of experience in Agile environments.
• 4 years of experience in working with relational databases including Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• 4 years of experience in object relational mapping using tools including Hibernate.

Location and Travel

Telecommute Position. Must reside within Texas and within commuting distance of a Frost bank branch. Various unanticipated locations throughout the state of Texas. Up to 10% domestic travel required. Part of employee referral program.
