Job summary

Prescient Edge is seeking a Software Engineer III to support a federal government client in San Diego, CA. You will research, design, and develop software solutions, collaborating with project management, security, logistics, and other disciplines to deliver integrated systems.

Required qualifications include 10 years of experience, Agile/DevOps experience, and a Master’s degree in a quantitative field. A certified Agile Developer or Scrum certification is preferred.

• 10 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with modern software development methodologies (e.g. Agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS).
• Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
• Update or enhance existing software capabilities.
• Work with other functional disciplines to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and performance requirements.
• Maintain databases within an application area.

Description

Software Engineers research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. They may also perform the following duties:

• Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
• Update or enhance existing software capabilities.
• Work with other functional disciplines (e.g., project management, acquisition, logistics, security, etc.) to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and performance requirements.
• Maintain databases within an application area.

• Experience with applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting.
• Experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting.
• Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification.

Education

• Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems)

Typical Experience

• 10 years of professional experience with software engineering.
