Job summary

Framatome in Richland, WA seeks a software engineer to support a 24x7 MES environment, develop from specifications, and lead upgrades. You will collaborate with IT and manufacturing teams to ensure robust software design and deployment in a critical industrial setting.

You will guide less experienced engineers and contribute to project leadership, while maintaining strong communication across all levels of staff and management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of fundamental concepts and procedures.
  • Understanding of network protocols and deployment across environments.
  • Proficient with MS Office and programming tools listed above.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to adapt priorities and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Write, modify, develop and implement software applications from specs.
  • Participate in testing, review, and certification of software.
  • Support and install software applications/operating systems.
  • Manage installation and configuration of complex third-party apps.
  • Provide resolutions to improve customer satisfaction and budget alignment.
  • May own an application with leadership and governance responsibilities.
  • Provide guidance to junior software engineers.
  • Provide DBA support to a 24x7 MES environment and lead upgrades.

What You’ll Do Day-To-Day
  • Work from detailed programming specifications, design, modify, develop, write and implement software-programming applications.

  • Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.

  • Support and/or install software applications/operating systems.

  • Manage installation and configuration of more complex third-party applications.

  • Provide resolution to a fundamental problem or seize an opportunity that improves the satisfaction of a customer, user or provider.

  • Explain the financial impact of a solution or a decision to assist customers in complying with budget requirements.

  • May assume ownership of a specific application. Ownership = operational leadership, strategicleadership, responsible for creating and defending software design, technical leadership within a taskor project that changes the software, interface with IT, vendor/consultant/subcontractor/customermanagement.

  • May provide guidance to less experienced Software Engineers.

What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or arelated field. Equivalent workexperience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of fundamental concept, practices andprocedures in the area of specialization.
  • Understanding of network protocols and applicationdeployment across environments.
  • Proficient with PC-based applications such as MS Office,appropriate programming tools such as C++, C#, Visual Basic, ASP, JAVA, PL Sequel, WEB 2.0.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve fundamental technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skillswith ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.
  • Ability to develop andmaintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to change priorities quickly, confront issues directly and work well as part of a team.
Total Rewards Package
  • Salary: $94,000 - $127,000, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
