Our Purpose

To create a better human experience through technology

Our Mission

We empower businesses with the tools to transform conversations into an advantage

Our Vision

We revolutionize the ways in which people and businesses connect

What do we do?
  • We help businesses determine which ad campaigns produce the highest return on investment, ultimately driving more conversions, increasing efficiencies, and automating their operations.
  • We help contact centers support and better connect with their customers by offering a variety of tools such as our mobile app, transcriptions, chat and text messaging features, queue tracking, and a bunch of incredible analytics.
  • We help businesses to work remotely as effectively as they do in‑person through our soft‑phone and contact center support tools, helping thousands of businesses to employ team members around the world.
  • We enable automation through powerful AI features to enhance workforce productivity, discover business opportunities and improve the human experience of communication by reducing the time spent on boring tasks and allowing more human time to interact.

Our headquarters is in Maryland, but we have team members around the country focused on helping our customers. We pride ourselves on our amazing culture, which you can learn about here.

What position are we hiring for (and what will they do)?

We are looking for a Software Engineer III to work alongside a talented team of engineers and product managers in the design, development, testing, and deployment of CTM’s technical solutions.

As a Software Engineer III, you should continue to develop your technical skills and expertise while taking greater ownership of projects that span multiple components, services, or teams. You should bring a passion for building high‑quality software, solving complex problems, and finding simple solutions to challenging technical and product needs. You should also be able to adapt to changing priorities, technologies, and challenges while helping others navigate them as well.

In this role, you will be expected to own projects from planning through launch, identify and communicate risks and dependencies, collaborate with teammates and stakeholders, contribute to technical decisions, and help raise the quality of both our code and development practices.

As a successful Software Engineer III, you will:
  • Lead the design and implementation of moderately complex projects spanning multiple components or services
  • Write clear, maintainable, and testable code while considering reliability, security, performance, and scalability
  • Develop testing approaches that account for integration points, failure scenarios, and safe releases
  • Use systematic debugging to diagnose cross‑service issues and drive them through resolution
  • Own projects from planning through implementation, launch, and follow‑up
  • Break complex work into clear milestones, identify dependencies, and manage risks and blockers
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Product, and other stakeholders to maintain alignment and drive work forward
  • Communicate technical decisions, tradeoffs, project status, and risks clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, technical discussions, and project planning
  • Mentor less‑experienced engineers through pairing, code reviews, planning, and feedback
  • Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and improvements to engineering practices and processes
  • Take accountability for project outcomes while balancing delivery, reliability, security, maintainability, and customer impact
What skills will help you be effective on our team?
  • 5+ years of software development experience, with a track record of building, testing, and maintaining software in a professional environment, or equivalent experience demonstrating the technical expertise expected at this level
  • BS in Computer Science, Math, or another analytical discipline is preferred, but not required
  • Strong software development skills in Python, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, or another relevant language, with experience working across a broader technology stack
  • Strong technical problem‑solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and evaluate technical tradeoffs
  • Project ownership and planning skills, with the ability to break ambiguous work into manageable milestones and drive projects through completion
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across Engineering, Product, and other teams
  • Ability to identify and manage risks, dependencies, and changing priorities while keeping stakeholders informed
  • Strong understanding of software quality, including testing, maintainability, reliability, security, and observability
  • Ability to mentor and support other engineers, while continuing to seek feedback and develop your own skills
  • Passion for continuous improvement, with an interest in new technologies and finding ways to improve our products, processes, and technical solutions
  • Prior large‑scale web application experience and a GitHub, Bitbucket, or GitLab portfolio are a plus
  • Always hacking and exploring new technologies
What you get in return:
  • The expected salary range for this role may differ based upon the candidate. Salary presented with a job offer will be based on factors such as calibrated job level, educational background, prior work experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
  • When we win, you win - we pay quarterly bonuses when we reach our revenue goals
  • We love to give out annual merit increases to team members who are meeting our expectations
  • We offer a hybrid work schedule with Mondays and Fridays as our work from home days. Once an employee reaches 5 years of service, they are eligible for Summer Fridays
  • Generous Paid‑Time‑Off policy that allows employees to accrue up to 30 days per year, depending upon tenure
  • 2 work from anywhere weeks per year, with additional weeks earned with tenure
  • 8 paid holidays, plus one additional floating holiday employees can use to celebrate their birthday or a federal or religious holiday of their choice, with additional floating holidays earned with tenure

  • Medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage for employees and their families; plus both HSA and FSA pre‑tax account options, which can be used to pay for health related expenses. We also offer an employer match for the HSA plan
  • Up to 4 weeks of paid parental leave, depending on tenure
  • Free basic life insurance and AD&D coverage equal to your annual base salary
  • Free short term disability coverage at 100% of salary after being employed for 6 months
  • Free access to a wide range of health and well‑being information and services such as telephonic counseling, legal advice, and will preparation
