Job summary

C.H. Robinson in Eden Prairie, MN is seeking a Software Engineer III to join the Global Forwarding engineering team.

You will collaborate with product managers, fellow engineers, and business partners to design and deliver solutions that transform how we serve our global customers. You’ll be responsible for evaluating requirements, estimating tasks, managing risks, and implementing software that meets performance, quality, business, and security objectives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience developing and implementing commercial software.
• 3+ years' experience with object-oriented programming (e.g., C#, .NET).
• 1+ year experience with relational or non-relational databases (e.g., MS SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Elastic, Cosmos).
• Familiarity with HTTP and RESTful architecture.
• 1+ year experience with unit, integration, and acceptance testing.
• 1+ year experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, TFS).
• 1+ year experience with CI/CD practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IS, MIS, or related field, or 4+ years of equivalent work experience with a high school diploma/GED

Responsibilities

• Develop software and design solutions that meet customer requirements with a focus on performance and availability.
• Conduct gemba-style engagements with users to build empathy and ensure value.
• Partner with product managers and principal engineers to translate requirements into designs.
• Conduct code reviews and write unit, integration, and acceptance tests to ensure high code quality.
• Optimize, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance and availability issues in production environments.
• Create and maintain thorough technical documentation.
• Write secure code and address security vulnerabilities.
• Estimate development efforts and identify dependencies across teams.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers; contribute to engineering best practices and lifecycle standards.

Compensation Range

$119,800.00 - $202,300.00

The base pay range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for this specific location. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base pay only and do not include additional variable compensation.
