Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Asset & Wealth Management Technology team. You will contribute to designing, developing, and securing software components for state-of-the-art financial products in a scalable way.

You will work in an agile environment, leverage AI-assisted development tools, and collaborate across teams to deliver robust solutions while ensuring compliance and security across the software lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability in a data processing environment.
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with Python and SQL.
• Strong fundamentals with databases.
• Experience using enterprise AI-assisted development tools and ability to evaluate AI outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and security expectations.
• Familiarity with SDLC, code review, testing, release practices, and operations.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies, CI/CD, resiliency, and security.
• Working knowledge of AWS concepts and services.

Responsibilities

• Executes standard software solution design, development, and troubleshooting.
• Writes secure, high-quality code using Python with limited guidance.
• Leverages AI coding assist tools to improve quality and speed, with peer review and testing.
• Designs and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream/downstream systems.
• Applies SDLC tools and AI automation capabilities to improve value.
• Performs basic technical troubleshooting to solve problems.
• Gathers and analyzes large data sets to identify problems and support decisions.
• Learns system processes and methods for secure, stable code development.
