Job summary

Onyx Point, Inc. is seeking a senior Software Engineer with active TS/SCI w/ full scope polygraph clearance. Requires 14 years of SWE experience and a BS in CS or related field, with substitution allowed for degree by experience.

Strong Java, Hadoop, Accumulo, Zookeeper, Kubernetes, and Ansible skills are essential for design, development, troubleshooting, and system integration. Responsibilities include leading software teams, optimizing performance, developing data queries, documenting

Qualifications

• 14 years of SWE experience in programs with similar scope.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field; 4 years additional SWE experience may substitute for degree.
• Experience setting up, deploying, troubleshooting Hadoop, Map/Reduce, Accumulo, Zookeeper.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance needs.
• Design and code new software or modify existing to add features.
• Debug software and correct defects.
• Integrate software into new or modified systems.
• Develop simple data queries for databases or data repositories.
• Provide documentation and process improvement recommendations.
• Develop or implement algorithms to meet performance standards.
• Assist with test procedures for software components.
• Write or review software and system documentation.
• Lead teams appropriate to the development process.
• Modify software to adapt to new hardware or improve performance.
• Coordinate with system/hardware engineers on requirements and interfaces.
• Monitor installation and ensure operational specs are met.
• Implement improvements to documentation and development standards.
