Job summary

Onyx Point, LLC. seeks a strong C++ software engineer to handle ingestion processing and component development. An active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph clearance (U.S.

citizenship required) is required, along with 20+ years as a SWE in similar programs. A BS in CS or related field is required, with 4 years of additional SWE experience substituting for the degree. Desirable cloud/Big Data skills include NoSQL stores (HBase/Accumulo/BigTable), MapReduce (Hadoop/Hive/Pig/HDFS), and JSON/BSON.

Qualifications

• Twenty years of SWE experience in programs and contracts of similar scope is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college is required; four additional SWE years may substitute for the degree.
• Cloud/Big Data experience with distributed NoSQL stores (HBase, Accumulo, BigTable) and MapReduce technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Pig, HDFS); JSON/BSON experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Design and code new software or modify existing software to add features.
• Debug existing software and correct defects.
• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
• Develop data queries for databases or data repositories.
• Develop and implement algorithms to meet performance and functional standards.
• Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
• Write or review software and system documentation.
• Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.
• Serve as the technical lead of multiple software development teams.
