Job summary

Alutiiq, LLC is seeking a Software Engineer II in San Diego, CA to support the RESTORE Laboratory for NIWCPAC. You will develop and execute test plans, verify API behaviors, and ensure quality across Windows and Linux environments while collaborating with distributed teams on cutting-edge C5ISR and Digital Engineering initiatives.

The role requires 2–4 years in software testing or related fields, a Bachelor's degree, and the ability to obtain government clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 2–4 years of professional experience in software testing, quality assurance, software development, or related technical roles.
• Experience testing software applications, including web applications, APIs, or backend services.
• Familiarity with software testing methodologies, test case development, defect tracking, and debugging techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain software test plans, test cases, and automated testing solutions for applications supporting Digital Engineering, MR, ML, and laboratory modernization efforts.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing to ensure software quality and performance.
• Support software integration and validation activities involving engineering systems, data processing pipelines, and laboratory equipment.
• Test and troubleshoot web applications, APIs, databases, and software services across Windows and Linux environments.
• Assist in establishing and improving software testing standards, processes, documentation, and best practices to promote consistency and quality.
• Identify, document, track, and troubleshoot software defects, working closely with developers to resolve issues.
• Participate in Agile software development activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, peer reviews, testing, and release management.
