Job summary

Gilbarco Veeder-Root, a Vontier company, is seeking a Software Engineer II for the Automatic Tank Gauge team. You will design, develop, and implement software for our ATG platforms, applying modern stacks and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You will mentor juniors, promote agile practices, and contribute to REST APIs, JSON data handling, and cloud services like AWS or Azure. A BS in CS/SE/CE and 3–5 years of OO language experience (C++/Java) is required, with project leadership

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience developing software in object‑oriented languages (C++ or Java).
• Project leadership experience preferred.
• Experience with continuous integration and automated test technologies is useful.
• Experience with REST APIs and JSON is useful.
• Experience with AWS or Azure (and associated services) is useful.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute software solutions to address business needs on our Automated Tank Gauge and related platforms.
• Bring knowledge of newer technology stacks and frameworks, helping the rest of the team get up to speed.
• Use experience with Agile methodologies to improve the working of our Agile teams.
• Collaborate with peers, electrical and mechanical development teams, quality assurance and others to produce game changing solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers on best practices in design and coding as well as transfer technical knowledge about newer technologies.
