Job summary

Amazon Web Services is seeking a software engineer to design and build distributed systems that apply discount logic across billions of usage events. You will contribute to the CBAS mission and partner with sales, finance, and service teams to translate complex enterprise deals into scalable billing constructs.

The role requires strong capabilities in distributed systems, OO design, and programming across languages such as C#, C++, Java, or Perl.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and build distributed systems that apply discount logic at AWS scale.
• Build configuration-driven discount systems for sales, service, and finance teams.
• Enforce accuracy with auditable, traceable discounting from contract terms to invoice lines.
• Partner with sales, finance, and service teams to translate enterprise deals into scalable billing constructs.
• Mentor engineers and raise the bar for code quality and operational excellence.
