Job summary

Outpost Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our Test and Evaluation team, building a digital scoring system for remote sensing platforms and maintaining the platform UI to meet evolving customer needs.

The role requires strong technical background, US citizenship, and an active DoD Secret level clearance, with 3–10 years of software development experience in C/C++/Python on Linux and Windows. Collaboration and rigorous testing are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have US Citizenship.
• Active DoD Security Clearance: Secret Level or Higher.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 3–10 years of software development experience.
• Proficient in C/C++ and Python; experience on Linux and Windows.

Responsibilities

• Develop, expand, and maintain software tool suite to improve lethality analysis and Model & Simulation capabilities.
• Assist planning development and test activities, manage life-cycle risks, and enable frequent internal releases.
• Conduct peer reviews, provide constructive code criticism, and propose test techniques for verification and stress testing.
• Perform automated, integration and system-level testing; apply dependency inversion and mocking techniques.
• Analyze system-level requirements to derive software designs and detailed requirements.
• Communicate designs, implementation, and test strategies within a small development team to build consensus.
• Design, code, and debug soft real-time systems, including 6 DOF digital twin simulations and hardware interactions.
