Job summary

Komatsu Mining Technology Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, build, and operate mission critical software services powering our automation products. You will partner with product, hardware, and operations teams while mentoring other engineers and driving scalable architecture and operational excellence for mine sites worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software/Systems Engineering, or related discipline.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong programming skills and proficiency applying object oriented design patterns.
• Experience with REST APIs.
• Experience across the full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, automated testing, and production operations.
• Hands on experience developing automated tests at the unit, integration, contract, and system level and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to instrument and monitor services and apply operational excellence practices to troubleshoot and improve production systems.
• Understanding of security and data privacy best practices and ability to apply them in system design and implementation.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and influence technical decisions within the team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate mission critical software services powering Komatsu's automation products.
• Lead the definition and delivery of small features across distributed autonomous services (e.g., machine coordination, equipment management, navigation planning, collision detection).
• Collaborate with product, hardware, and operations teams and mentor other engineers.
• Drive scalable architecture, quality, and operational excellence for mine sites worldwide.
