Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent academics (GPA ≥ 3.0)
• Demonstrated proficiency developing moderately complex software in C, C++, C#, Java or assembly
• Proficient use of software engineering tools (config mgmt, builds, debuggers, emulators, simulators, logic analyzers)

Responsibilities

• Creates and executes designs for small sets of new functionalities as part of a software project using C, C++, C#, Java, assembly language, or other selected languages
• Utilizes software engineering tools in the development process
• May act as technical leader for derivative software projects
• Participates in peer code reviews and provides feedback
• Provides reliable solutions using sound problem-solving techniques
• Performs root cause analysis and outlines corrective actions
• Contributes to research on new technologies
• Estimates level of effort and suggests process improvements
• Mentors less experienced engineers
• Supports on-call duties for Garmin’s 24/7 operations
