Job summary

Garmin is seeking a full-time Software Engineer 2 at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. You will develop moderately complex software and design new functionalities for Garmin products and applications.

You will work with C, C++, C#, Java, assembly language, and other languages; mentor junior engineers; participate in code reviews; and support on-call operations 24/7 as part of rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree as listed or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience developing moderately complex software in C, C++, C#, Java, assembly or similar languages.
• Proficiency with software engineering tools: configuration management systems, build processes, debuggers, emulators, simulators and logic analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Creates and executes designs for small sets of new functionalities as part of a software project.
• Collaborates through peer code reviews and provides actionable feedback.
• Performs root cause analysis and outlines corrective actions for problems.
• Mentors less experienced engineers (Software Engineer 1) and participates in on-call support on a rotating schedule.
