Job summary

Mercury Insurance is seeking a software engineer to translate product requirements into robust, modular solutions using Java or Python and modern frontend with Angular. You will mentor peers, participate in design and code reviews, and help deliver scalable applications from anywhere in the United States.

Ideal candidates have experience with SQL/NoSQL, REST/gRPC APIs, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub) plus Docker/Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).

Qualifications

• Experience with Java or Python, plus frontend technologies like Angular.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, REST and gRPC APIs, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Write high-quality code for medium-complexity scenarios with good test coverage.
• Review and translate product requirements into robust, modular and scalable applications.
• Participate in design and code reviews to ensure best practices and Mercury standards.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers, fostering a culture of innovation.
• Collaborate with team members to address impediments and deliver desired results.
