Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Software Engineer II (Embedded / Radar) in El Segundo, CA to join a Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar team. You will develop RT embedded software for radar modes, work across lifecycle stages, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet performance, cost, and schedule targets.

The role requires a STEM degree with at least 2 years of experience, and the ability to obtain an interim Secret U.S. security clearance. Onsite work at the El Segundo campus is expected.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Development experience coding in C/C++/ADA or related languages/tools.
  • Experience with UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks or other RTOS.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim Secret U.S. security clearance prior to start date.

Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Software Engineer II [Embedded / Radar] to be part of their product development team for the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar group.

What you will do
  • Work on technical problems and provide innovative solutions, with minimal guidance.
  • Contribute at all phases of the SW development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration.
  • Develop RT embedded SW, specifically pertaining to various radar modes and capabilities.
  • Utilize investigation and troubleshooting skills to assess issues and develop solutions.
  • Work with teams across multiple disciplines, internal and external.
  • Participate in program and customer meetings/reviews.
  • Support the team leads as needed regarding technical decision making, problem resolution.
  • Help to ensure performance to technical, cost, schedule, quality.
  • Support of system and software requirements and architecture generation and analysis as needed.

Work Location: Onsite at our El Segundo, CA Campus

Must be able to obtain 'special access programs' (SAP/SAR) for continuation of employment.

Qualifications you must have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Development experience coding in C/C++/ADA or related languages/tools.
  • Experience working on UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks or other RTOS.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an ***interim Secret U.S. security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Current DoD Secret and Top Secret Clearance
  • Introductory Experience with design, code, integration, and test of software into a large software baseline and large system
  • Proven ability to obtain a Special Access Program (SAP) Clearances
  • Experience developing Radar Software applications
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum team hyper-collaborative team environment using typical agile oriented tool suite.
  • Direct experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot tool and system operation performance issues.
  • Experience with large complex systems such as airborne radars.

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
