Job summary

Raytheon Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer [Embedded / Radar] for the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar group. This onsite role focuses on developing embedded software for radar modes, performing SDLC activities, and collaborating across disciplines to deliver high-assurance solutions.

Candidates should have a STEM degree with at least 5 years of experience in C/C++ and RTOS environments, plus U.S.

• Development experience coding in C, C++, ADA or related languages/tools across phases of SDLC.
• Experience working on UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks or other RTOS.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Location: US-CA-EL SEGUNDO-R01 ~ 2000 E Imperial Hwy ~ BLDG R01. Onsite location.

What you will do

• Work on complex technical problems and provide highly innovative solutions.
• Effectively contribute at all phases of the software development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration.
• Develop embedded software for various radar modes and capabilities.
• Utilize strong investigation and troubleshooting skills to assess issues and develop solutions.
• Work effectively with teams across multiple disciplines, internal and external.
• Effectively contribute to program and customer meetings/reviews.
• Support program leads as needed regarding technical decision making and problem resolution.
• Perform technical leadership roles for at least one key task or line item on programs.
• Mentor at least one engineer on programs in areas of knowledge and expertise.
• Help ensure performance meets technical, cost, schedule, and quality goals.
• Support system and software requirements and architecture generation and analysis as needed.
• Must be able to obtain special access programs for continuation of employment.
• Work Location: Onsite at our El Segundo, CA campus.

• Current DoD Secret and Top Secret clearance.
• Experience developing radar software applications.
• Direct experience with agile methodologies.
• Proven analytical skills with ability to troubleshoot tool and system operation performance issues.
• Experience with large complex systems such as airborne radars.

• Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. RTX considers factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
