Req#: 50f7ee96-5a2b-4e32-aa93-7a4c5cbb1fa1
Over the last 10+ years, Ellevation Education has built a thriving business serving the administrators, specialists, and teachers who support English Learners (ELL) at public schools across the US. Today, over 1,800 school districts use our software to manage their EL programs and drive key outcomes for students. We are a successful, rapidly growing business with a mission—helping ELLs achieve their highest aspirations. We are investing in a benchmark assessment to inform instruction for EL students in grades 2–12 nationwide. This lightweight assessment will measure students’ growth between high-stakes, federally mandated assessments.
As a Software Engineer II on our assessment team, you’ll work in our instructional product domain to develop the assessment solution, including greenfield projects and deep system integrations. You should be comfortable working across the full stack with our backend (Python, Postgres, ECS) and frontend (React).
We seek engineers excited to leverage their skills in support of a mission-driven company. Our small, product-centric teams are remote, collaborative, and empowered to make impactful decisions. We operate with core hours from 10AM to 4PM (Eastern) and meet in person about four times a year at our Boston headquarters or offsite locations.
Ideal candidates are those who can balance quality and speed, understand business value, and own medium-sized features while communicating milestones clearly. Comfort across the tech stack and a willingness to go deep as needed are essential.
