Job summary

Amazon in New York, NY is seeking an SDE II to contribute to the Engine Front End team, owning features end to end and shaping designs with senior input. You will ship via release pipelines and operate what you ship in production.

You will tackle concrete, hard problems in distributed systems, routing millions of queries across engine generations while maintaining safety and reliability in production.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience for distributed systems.
• 1+ years designing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded software applications and services.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software language.

Responsibilities

• Own features and services end to end from design to production.
• Route millions of queries across engine generations with zero customer impact.
• Prove new engine builds are safe before production traffic.
• Learn the system deeply and grow toward independent design ownership.
