Job summary

Amazon's EC2 Pricing & Launch Services team is seeking an SDE II to design, build, and optimize software powering an exchange for computing resources, including pricing models and risk distribution. You will create customer-facing features that let users select products and use EC2 features cost-effectively, across global markets.

The role involves defining APIs, deploying and monitoring services, and mentoring peers to raise the bar on engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• 2+ years design/architecture experience of large-scale systems
• Experience building distributed systems and services using languages such as C#, C++, Java, or Perl
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in CS/Engineering/Math or related field
• Proficiency in at least one major programming language

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimize software for an exchange of computing resources including pricing models and risk distribution
• Develop customer-facing features to help users select products and use EC2 features cost-effectively
• Define intuitive web-service APIs and leverage AWS technologies to deliver new features quickly
• Enable global developers to build on EC2 by reducing friction and improving service architecture
• Automate deployment and monitoring to identify performance issues early
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of code quality and collaboration
