Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to join the Database and Applications Unit. This role focuses on building and maintaining data-driven applications that support WHI and MOSAAIC studies, with emphasis on high data quality and scalable design.

You will work on Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and PostgreSQL objects, collaborate with researchers and data managers, and contribute to testing, documentation, and on-call support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3-6 years of directly related experience.
• Proficiency with relational databases and SQL.
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts, data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with JavaScript, React, and web applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain database-driven applications for research study operations.
• Develop and optimize Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and PostgreSQL objects.
• Collaborate with researchers and data managers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and performance across applications and databases.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and provide on-call support as needed.
