Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in New York, NY, is hiring an SDE II to own features end to end for Athena's next-gen engine. You will design, build, test, and operate services that route millions of queries across engine generations with strong correctness and reliability.

The role emphasizes production readiness and responsible deployment. You will work with senior engineers to shape designs, review code, and ensure fast, scalable systems that underpin our serverless data analysis

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

• Own features and services end to end: design, build, test, and operate in production
• Route millions of queries across engine generations while keeping safety and performance
• Collaborate with senior engineers and managers to shape designs and release high-quality components
