Job summary
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is seeking a Software Engineer II – Building Applications to contribute to building energy efficiency initiatives. You will work as an individual contributor developing, improving, and maintaining software systems that support building energy research and decision making.
The role emphasizes agile practices, collaboration with cross‑functional teams, and dissemination through technical reports and publications.
Qualifications
- BS/BA in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field and 2 years of relevant software development experience
- MS/MA or PhD in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or PHP)
Responsibilities
- Contribute to software releases, publications, and presentations.
- Develop, improve, and maintain software systems for building energy efficiency.
- Translate domain needs into software requirements and reusable components.
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to deliver technically sound results.
