Job summary

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) seeks a Buildings Energy Research Engineer/Scientist to lead and contribute to the Residential & Commercial Building Program. You will evaluate building energy programs, validate field performance, and analyze energy technologies to improve efficiency and resiliency.

Responsibilities include data acquisition, test planning, and coordinating with sponsors. Travel and conferences are expected; strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant building energy experience for BS/BA.
• 3+ years with MS/MA or 1+ year with PhD in building science or related field.
• Experience in construction, operations, or testing of residential or commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

• Lead tasks with program managers and sponsors to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.
• Present program results to clients; travel up to 25% may be required.
• Attend conferences and support energy storage education in public forums.
