Job summary

TaxAct is seeking a Software Engineer II to support, enhance, and modernize legacy and modern applications used across customer support and internal operations. This backend- and platform-focused role emphasizes C#/.NET, TypeScript, SQL Server, AWS, and legacy application modernization.

You will troubleshoot complex problems, contribute to cloud migration, participate in CI/CD with Azure DevOps, and help improve performance, reliability, and security.

Qualifications

• Proficient in C#/.NET, TypeScript, and SQL Server.
• Experience modernizing legacy apps and systems.
• Hands-on AWS cloud experience and migration knowledge.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and deployment automation.
• Strong troubleshooting across apps, databases, and integrations.
• Able to work independently and with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and modernize apps using C#/.NET, TypeScript, and SQL Server.
• Modernize legacy systems, including upgrades and cloud migration.
• Build, deploy, and support apps in AWS environments.
• Troubleshoot complex application, database, integration, and production issues.
• Work with Azure DevOps and CI/CD to improve build, test, and deployment.
• Improve performance, reliability, maintainability, and security.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, support, and business teams.
• Support automated testing, including Playwright.
• Work with containerized apps and Kubernetes as needed.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, testing, and documentation.
