Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle, WA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build one of Earth's largest distributed systems - EC2 - at scale.

You will own software and tooling to deploy new EC2 regions and availability zones with zero human touch, participate in architecture discussions, and mentor junior engineers. The role emphasizes on-call reliability, code reviews, and career growth within a culture that values knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship software development experience
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience for large-scale systems
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related experience
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software applications
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software language

Responsibilities

• Develop software for EC2 at scale and tooling to deploy EC2 in new regions and AZs
• Work on design, architecture, and implementation of distributed systems
• Collaborate with senior engineers through code reviews and mentoring
• Contribute to maintaining fault-tolerant systems and on-call responsibilities
