Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud services powering AWS infrastructure.

You will work with product managers and senior engineers to translate requirements into robust solutions and deliver high-quality code following architectural best practices. You will participate in code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues across AWS services, and implement automated testing to ensure reliability.

Qualifications

• 3 years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2 years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud services and features that power AWS’s core infrastructure
• Collaborate with product managers and senior engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Write high-quality, efficient code while adhering to AWS’s architectural best practices
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, security, and performance standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across AWS services
• Implement automated testing frameworks to ensure reliability and performance
• Contribute to on‑call rotations to support production systems
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
• Document system designs, APIs, and operational procedures
• Continuously evaluate and improve existing systems for performance, scalability, and cost‑efficiency
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends
