Job summary

Dallas County is seeking a software engineer to contribute to the design, development, testing, and support of digital solutions in an Agile environment. You will collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to deliver secure, maintainable code that modernizes County services for residents.

Responsibilities include implementing features, APIs, and UI, plus writing tests, performing code reviews, and supporting CI/CD processes. A Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years in software development; design, test, and deploy features.
  • Certifications: Azure DevOps/AWS Dev, CSD, or similar Agile certs.

Responsibilities

  • Implement features, user stories, and bug fixes under guidance.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, stand-ups, demos, retrospectives.
  • Develop and maintain UI, APIs, and backend logic.
  • Write clean, documented code following County standards.
  • Perform unit and integration testing to reduce defects.
  • Collaborate with QA, UX, and operations teams for end-to-end delivery.
