Job summary

Dallas County is seeking a software engineer to contribute to design, development, testing, and support of software solutions within an Agile environment. You will work with senior engineers and product teams to build features, troubleshoot issues, and deliver secure, maintainable code for county operations and residents.

Responsibilities include implementing features and bug fixes, participating in Agile ceremonies, developing UIs, APIs, and backend logic, and delivering code that passes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Three (3) years of software development experience.
• Knowledge of one or more programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java, C#).
• Knowledge of Agile development, Git, and software testing practices.
• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and CI/CD familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Implements features, user stories, and bug fixes under guidance of senior engineers.
• Participates in Agile ceremonies like sprint planning, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
• Supports development of UIs, APIs, and backend logic.
• Writes clean, well-structured, documented code following County standards.
• Performs unit and integration testing to validate functionality.
• Collaborates with QA, UX, and operations teams for end-to-end delivery.
