Job summary

Duolingo is hiring for an Android-focused engineer within the Subscriber Conversion team. You will develop, test, and refine native Android features in Kotlin, contributing to a high-velocity, data-driven product that drives subscription growth across iOS, Android, backend, and web surfaces.

You will mentor junior engineers, set technical direction, and collaborate with design and backend colleagues to ship reliable, scalable solutions that power our paywall and pricing experiments.

Subscriber Conversion Team:

The Subscriber Conversion team owns the surfaces that turn learners into subscribers and keep them subscribed including in-app hooks and paywalls, the purchase flow, pricing and packaging, payments, and subscription partnerships. The team is highly experimental, running a steady stream of A/B tests across iOS, Android, backend, and web, and balances quick optimizations on high-traffic surfaces with larger bets like new tiers and partner offerings.

The offered salary is dependent upon several factors, including work experience, skills, and internal peer comparisons. The posted range is subject to change in the future. For this role, base salary is supplemented by equity compensation.

Salary Range: $153,000 — $207,000 USD
