Duolingo is hiring for an Android Engineer on the Subscriber Conversion Team to help turn learners into subscribers across iOS, Android, backend, and web. You will develop, release, and maintain native Android features in Kotlin and mentor junior engineers.
You should have a Bachelor degree in CS or a related field and strong Kotlin experience, plus the ability to clearly communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The Subscriber Conversion team owns the surfaces that turn learners into subscribers and keep them subscribed including in-app hooks and paywalls, the purchase flow, pricing and packaging, payments, and subscription partnerships. The team is highly experimental, running a steady stream of A/B tests across iOS, Android, backend, and web, and balances quick optimizations on high-traffic surfaces with larger bets like new tiers and partner offerings.
The offered salary is dependent upon several factors, including work experience, skills, and internal peer comparisons. The posted range is subject to change in the future. For this role, base salary is supplemented by equity compensation. The salary range is $153,000 — $207,000 USD.
