Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Reliability Engineering Tooling team. You will build internal tooling for Developers, SREs, and Operations, owning the full lifecycle from development to operations.

Focus areas include automating manual tasks, analyzing site health, and deploying with GCP, including AI agents to improve change hygiene and reduce incidents. You will work with engineers across experience levels to grow technically and contribute to production systems,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field related to the job.
2+ years of relevant work experience in engineering or reliability.
Experience with ITIL processes and production systems support.
Experience leveraging AI to increase productivity and velocity, including prompt engineering and building custom AI agents.
Proficiency in Golang, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Bash.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with UX, engineering, and product management to deliver secure, reliable software solutions.
Create meaningful dashboards, logging, alerting, and automated responses to incidents.
Automate infrastructure, testing, and deployment across GCP with CI/CD tooling.
Own SOPs for deployment and operation of applications; ensure changes align with best practices and controls.
