Job summary

RealPage Insurance seeks a Software Engineer II to independently deliver well-scoped features and fix defects, using AI coding agents as a primary tool while owning code quality and security.

You will design, implement, and maintain features with .NET, Angular, and SQL Server, guide AI agents, participate in code reviews, and contribute to test automation and CI/CD to ensure robust software. The role requires 2–5 years of experience and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with .NET, REST APIs, and SQL Server.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI coding agents productively and independently, including prompt construction, iterative refinement, and rigorous review of generated code.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Proven track record of using AI coding agents on complex, real-world changes, with strong judgment about their limitations and appropriate use.
• Experience building test automation solutions for both API and frontend/UI applications.
• Test automation experience with Playwright or Selenium required; Playwright strongly preferred.
• Experience with distributed systems and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain features using C#, .NET, Angular, and SQL Server.
• Independently deliver user stories and bug fixes, breaking work into steps for coding agents.
• Direct AI coding agents to implement features, generate tests, and refactor code with proper context.
• Review AI-generated output for correctness, security, performance, and standards before merging.
• Participate in code reviews, including agent-assisted changes.
• Diagnose and resolve application and production issues.
• Contribute to unit and integration testing.
• Judge when to delegate tasks to AI vs. manual coding.
• Design, build, and maintain test automation frameworks and suites covering API and frontend UI.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and monitor test failures.
• Champion best practices for test design and reduce flaky tests.
