Job summary

SEI Global Services, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the SEI Wealth Platform team in Oaks, PA. You will contribute to developing and maintaining enterprise-grade Jira integrations, automations, dashboards and workflows within an Agile environment.

The role requires strong Java/Javascript/HTML skills, Jira administration experience, and collaboration with architects, DevOps and operations to ensure platform reliability and delivery excellence.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or another related field or equivalent
  • Experience delivering systems and projects from inception through implementation
  • Solid software development and programming skills, with understanding of design patterns

Responsibilities

  • Develop code based on business and functional requirements following Agile process
  • Produce high-quality code and ensure it meets quality gates in code analysis tools
  • Analyze and resolve issues found during testing or pre-production phases
  • Provide technical support to project team members in addressing errors or questions
  • Collaborate with architects, leads, and teams to address technical and schedule issues
  • Suggest and implement process improvements for estimating, development and testing
  • Provide technical support for the Atlassian Jira platform
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Jira platform issues, integration failures, and performance concerns
  • Support Jira upgrades, configuration changes, testing activities, and deployments
  • Develop and maintain Jira automations, scripts, dashboards, and integrations
  • Collaborate with DevOps and technical operations for Jira integrations with source control and CI/CD
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles

Job description

The SEI Wealth Platform is seeking to hire a Software Engineer II. This position requires a strong foundation in software development, application support, and platform administration, with a focus on supporting and enhancing the Atlassian Jira ecosystem. The successful candidate will work in an Agile team environment and possess the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, support platform integrations, and maintain Jira configurations that enable effective software delivery. You should be adaptable, possess a broad range of technical skills, and demonstrate the ability to work effectively with software engineers, database engineers, technical operations, and other platform personnel. Experience supporting enterprise applications and development toolchains is highly desirable.

What you will do:
  • Develop code based on reading and understanding business and functional requirements following the Agile process
  • Produce and test high-quality code to meet all project deadlines and ensuring the functionality matches the requirements as well as all quality gates defined in our code analysis tools
  • Analyze and resolve issues found during the testing or pre-production phases of the software delivery lifecycle; coordinating changes with project team leaders and cross-work team members
  • Provide technical support to project team members and responding to inquiries regarding errors or questions about programs
  • Interact with architects, technical leads, team members and project managers as required to address technical and schedule issues.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements for estimating, development and testing processes.
  • Provide technical support for the Atlassian Jira platform
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Jira platform issues, integration failures, workflow defects, and system performance concerns.
  • Support Jira upgrades, releases, configuration changes, testing activities, and production deployments while ensuring platform stability and availability.
  • Develop and maintain Jira automations, scripts, dashboards, and integrations to improve development team productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and technical operations teams to support Jira's integration with source control, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and other enterprise platforms.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge base articles related to Jira administration and support.
What we need from you:
  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or another related field or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years prior work experience working with an application development organization; must demonstrate experience delivering systems and projects from inception through implementation
  • Possesses solid software development and programming skills, with an understanding of design patterns, and software development best practices
  • Work experience in developing Web Applications with Java, Java Script, and HTML. Experience with Spring MVC frameworks and Angular/React, typescript, etc is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience administering and supporting Atlassian Jira in an enterprise environment, including workflow configuration, permissions management, dashboard and report creation, automation, troubleshooting, and platform maintenance.
  • Hands on experience working on multi-tiered applications that are designed, developed and delivered as cloud- based solutions: o Designing and developing Cloud Native applications, o Creating microservices applications using technologies such as REST, JSON, Spring Boot, Spring MVC and Java o Deploying and configuring well performing Cloud Native applications o UI Web development framework experience
  • Familiarity with: o Relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server o Unstructured data and persistence model such as MongoDB, Snowflake o ORM tools (EclipseLink, JPA) o DevOps toolsets for versioning, containers, such as Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Maven
Additional knowledge and/or experience desired:
  • Development experience in the financial services industry including banking, wealth management, investment management, asset data and investment processing
  • Experience supporting Jira Service Management or Confluence.
  • Experience supporting integrations between Jira and DevOps tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Artifactory, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with Jira APIs, scripting, and automation capabilities used to streamline operational support activities.
  • Possesses Azure, AWS, or OCI certifications
  • Test Driven Development
  • Application migrations to the cloud
  • Infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible and Terraform
  • Identity Technologies (OAuth, Azure AD, AWS IAM, OKTA, Ping)
  • Experience with event-driven architecture, domain-driven design, and API-first development.
  • Monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, or Grafana
