Your Impact on Team

The Ceres Adaptive Learning team is looking for a front-end Software Engineer II with experience building high quality, accessible Angular web applications. The Ceres Adaptive Learning platform provides highly interactive, individualized, and engaging content to students while adapting to their learning style and speed. As an engineer on our team, you’ll build tools to help authors to design new adaptive learning experiences, make classroom management easier for teachers, and create fun learning experiences that support thousands of students.

The products are used by K-12 students and teachers for math, literacy, and social studies subjects. You would be contributing to the platform by building accessible features so that we can deliver vibrant content and a unique experience that makes learners excited to engage with the content.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.
What You’ll Do:
  • Participate in the design and development of applications and services to support business and engineering initiatives
  • Build accessible student and teacher experiences for learners through responsive design and following WCAG 2.1 AA standards
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, and cross-functional teams on feature development
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and champion engineering best practices to ensure quality, stability, performance, resiliency, and maintainability of your software
  • Collaborate with engineers on your team on feature development and bug fixes
  • Be a champion of the customer’s voice and ensure our products are built with customer empathy at the forefront
  • Share knowledge and practices with other teams through code reviews and documentation
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code with comprehensive unit and integration test coverage
What you bring:
  • Software engineering experience with a distributed product and engineering team, preferably using Angular 2+. TypeScript, NgRx, and RxJs.
  • Excitement about crafting engaging and accessible user interfaces for students and teachers so they can get the most out of our products.
  • You can contribute to the full software development life cycle, to include writing application code, writing unit/integration/automation tests, documentation, and performance engineering.
  • Proficient in HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, responsive design, and accessibility standards
  • Strong communication skills and customer-focused mindset with empathy for end users.
  • Self-motivated team player who thrives in an agile development environment
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a growth mindset
  • Background in education technology or mission-driven industries
  • Familiarity with accessible design principles and practices

The pay range for this position is between $93,900 - $125,000 annually. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
