Job summary

PEAK Technical Services Inc. seeks a software engineer to design and implement full‑stack software architecture for missile system applications including guidance, navigation, and mission planning. You will participate in design reviews and collaborate across teams to ensure quality and compliance.

The role requires 2+ years of relevant experience, C/C++ proficiency, and ability to obtain an Active Secret clearance. Experience with Python/Java and real-time embedded systems is preferred.

Job description

• Assist with the design and implementation of full-stack software architecture and design patterns for missile system applications implementing major system functions such as guidance, navigation, control, telemetry, and mission planning.
• Participate in technical reviews, design reviews, and code reviews to ensure quality and compliance.
• Support technical decisions on tools, frameworks, and development approaches.
• Develop software designed to promote modularity, reusability, portability, and maintainability requirements.
• Engage in frequent communication with team members.
• Support flight test operations and post-test analysis.
• Develop software that adheres to military and aviation standards for safety, cybersecurity, and RMF.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or an equivalent technical degree with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• At least 2 years of relevant technical experience.
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Demonstrable experience with C/C++ required.
• Experience with Python and Java.
• Understanding of software architecture patterns and design principles.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and systems-level thinking.
• Experience with software configuration management principles and techniques, software quality engineering concepts, and good software standards and practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with embedded missile systems, aerospace, or weapons systems development.
• Familiarity with real-time embedded systems.
• Knowledge of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) principles and application.
• Experience with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and microservices technology.
• Knowledge of guidance & control algorithms, navigation systems, mission planning systems (NOMS, JMPS), and/or sensors.
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink for algorithm development and simulation.
• Understanding of hardware-software integration and software systems engineering principles.
• U.S. Citizenship Required
