Job summary

Qualis LLC is seeking a Systems Engineer, Level 2, to join our WSS team in Colorado Springs, CO. The role will be onsite daily with limited remote work and will support the MDASim and MDST programs with warfighter simulations.

You will assist in requirements derivation, MBSE artifact development, and documentation, collaborating with senior engineers to ensure accurate, data-driven modeling of threat environments. Travel up to 10% and DoD clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of related work experience, or a Master's with 0–2 years.
• Experience with military modeling and simulation frameworks is preferred.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or C++ for data analysis and automation.
• Familiarity with MBSE concepts and missile defense domains is desirable.
• Must be able to travel up to 10% and obtain/maintain DoD clearance.

Qualis LLC is seeking a Systems Engineer, Level 2, to join our team. This position supports Warfighter Simulation Services (WSS) which includes the Missile Defense Advanced Simulation (MDASim) and Missile Defense Space Tool (MDST) programs and will split time between the Northrop Grumman facility and Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB), in Colorado Springs, CO.

This role requires candidates to be onsite daily with very limited remote/hybrid work available.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Systems Engineer to support the WSS team. The successful candidate will assist in the software development lifecycle through requirements derivation, process development and refinement, Model Based Systems Engineering model development, and contractual documentation. Collaborating with senior engineers, you will contribute to data-driven analysis and systems engineering workflows that ensure our simulation tools accurately represent current and future threat environments. • Support capability elicitation and derivation of requirements to realize requested development.
• Collaborate in defining and developing processes and procedures.
• Research and gain experience with missile defense concepts, space-based sensor phenomenology, and threat model trajectories.
• Work in close coordination with senior engineers to develop systems engineering artifacts supporting development and testing.
• Participate in the development and update of technical documentation, system requirements, and user guides for simulation tools.
• Provide briefings to customer(s) and stakeholder(s) related to technical solutions, process development and updates, and system engineering artifacts.
• Support training and orientation of simulation tools.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM with 0-2 years of related work experience.
• Practical experience executing or analyzing results from military modeling and simulation (M&S) frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience in data analysis, scripting, or automation using Python, MATLAB, or C++.
• Familiarity with missile defense concepts, space-based tracking/sensors, or orbital mechanics.
• Basic understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts.
• Must be self-motivated and capable of executing technical tasks with minimal supervision.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.
• Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD Secret Clearance at the time of application which is required to start; with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance with access to SCI.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Direct experience working with the Missile Defense Advanced Simulation (MDASim) or Missile Defense Space Tool (MDST).
• Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) ground test, flight test, or wargaming events.
• Basic experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as CAMEO or MagicDraw.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• A current active in-scope DoD Top Secret Clearance with access to SCI (TS/SCI).
