Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Aguadilla, PR, is seeking a Software Engineer I to join our hybrid team. This role entails working in a cross-disciplinary, agile environment on the full software lifecycle from architecture to field support.

We require a STEM degree and less than 2 years of related experience, plus experience with JavaScript, C++, and Python. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance are required. Relocation is not offered.

The Strategic Defense Solutions portfolio at our Collins Global Engineering & Technology Center has an opportunity for a talented Software Engineer I to join our team.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered. This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

What YOU will do:

• Participate on collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, often employing agile software development techniques
• Responsible for the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design, through integration, test, and field support
• Work and learn the highest software engineering process maturity level as recognized by the Software Engineering Institute

Qualifications you must have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience
• Experience working in various phases of the software development lifecycle using Javascript
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment that requires communication with other engineering disciplines, Program, and external stakeholders
• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with Agile lifecycle process including Scrum, Continuous Integration, and Test-
• Experience with DevOps, Jenkins and automated testing
• C++ knowledge
• Scripting language (e.g. Python) knowledge
